Call for Artists: Booth & Presentation Space Available at Catoosa Centennial Celebration
Catoosa, OK, is celebrating 100 Years this month! The Centennial Committee has booth space available, as well as space for live performances/demonstrations --- or, perhaps, movie screenings? Call them and find out!
Centennial Celebration is September 20-22 in Catoosa. Booths are available Friday and Saturday: $75 with electric, $50 without. Only $15 for easel setup for both days! Retail and crafters will be separated from the arts area. Plenty of foot traffic from corresponding events, highway viewed area and local media and National Route 66 Association publicity.
Celebration events include carnival, artists, food vendors, live entertainment, trolley rides, kids contests, street dance, Centennial cake-cutting, and various speakers covering the history of Catoosa and its famous Blue Whale.

Casting Call for Horror/Rock Pic on June 1-2 in Tulsa
Independent Horror Movies...Wanna Play?
Tulsa-based Next Monkey Productions is currently seeking cast for its next horror feature titled BRANDED. The movie will be shot in the Tulsa and surrounding area. Goal is to begin shooting around the end of June. Pay is undetermined at this time, if there is any, it will not be much; we are low budget. Credit, Food, Copy and Fun are definitely provided!
Auditions will be held:
- WHEN: June 1 (10:00AM to 6:00PM) and June 2 (2-7:00PM)
- WHERE: 16th East 16th Street, Tulsa
- HOW TO FIND IT: Location is 1/2 block E of 16th & Main. Enter through north doors of Tower 2; address is written very small on front door.
- WHAT TO BRING: Your headshot, or send it ahead via instructions below.
- WHAT TO WEAR: If you plan on auditioning for one of the rock-n-roll guys described below, then you are encouraged to have the dress and attitude of a rock band member.
The trailer for Next Monkey's current movie project (Toe Tags) should be available at their website by now; please check it out, as it will give you an idea about their movies.
Branded is about a rock-and-roll band that takes a weekend retreat to a cabin in order to complete a CD that they think will go platinum. A twisted plan is put into place to ensure the band's success. But what is the price some of them are willing to pay to achieve their fame?
Actors need to be physically fit. It will be summer and you will be running around in swimwear as well as shorts-only (for the guys) sometimes. We may be using wigs for the rock hair do’s. Generally looking for the males to be over 5’9.
Characters Needed:
- MITCH - age 26-32, nice personality, somewhat laid back. He is the lead singer of the group and he struggles to keep the band focused. Mitch has a very dark secret.
- CRASH - age 26-32, poster child for the self-absorbed. Very bold and in your face personality. Crash only cares about Crash. He is the drummer.
- SCOT - age 23-33, Scot wants the band to make it. He tries real hard to stay focused. He plays keyboards.
- COOPER - age 28-40, Coop is the detective that is on the case. Very straightforward person, but he does love rock-and-roll.
- LIZ - age 22-30, Out at the lake for the weekend, wild and crazy girl; will try anything. Brief nudity.
- RACHEL - age 22-30, Out with her friend Liz, but Rachel is more cautious; she is not taken by this rock-and-roll group. Brief nudity.

IAO Gallery Seeks Submissions for 5th Annual Open Screening in May
Best-in-Show will win more than $100!
Individual Artists of Oklahoma (IAO) Gallery continues its annual fest of films with Open Screening Night on Friday, May 17! Show starts at 8:00pm; as usual, admission is only $5.00.
Wanna submit a project? Deadline is May 3 for artists to enter their videos. Videos can be no longer than 15 minutes in length and can be about anything. Videos can be dropped off or sent to the IAO Art Gallery, 811 N Broadway, downtown OKC. This year's Best-in-Show Winner will win more than 100 dollars. We will also be having a Audience Choice award. It should be an exciting event!

Dreams Come True! Productions Seeks Local Investors for "Callie Wade" Movie
Dreams Come True! Productions is in development of an independent feature film to be shot in Tulsa during summer 2002. DCT!P seeks local investors for its screen version of The Journal of Callie Wade, penned by Dawn Miller of Missouri. Miller is author of a well-received series of books that cover decades of a fictional pioneer family's travails during the 1800's.
DCT!P producer Lindsay McGrail and Dallas-based producer Chad Gundersen have brought Tulsan Damon Roberts on board as associate producer for this feature. They have begun meeting with potential investors this week.
DCT!P announces it is also planning to shoot a 16mm short in Tulsa, to be directed by two Holland Hall students who have had previous work recognized (via selection process from 10,000 submittors) at last year's Toronto Film Festival. Casting calls will be placed soon.
As a production company, DCT!P shares the same vision as the Christian Film Commission. We devote ourselves to redeeming the values of the entertainment industry according to biblical principles by influencing top executives and creative artists to adopt higher moral and spiritual principles and by informing the public--especially parents, children and teenagers--to be active media-wise consumers.

Dolphin Bay Seeks Teen Actors for 'Haunting' Feature in NE Oklahoma
Tulsa-based Dolphin Bay Productions will begin casting in the near future for teenage boys and girls for a Stand By Me-type period piece incorporating elements of old-fashioned horror. This feature length film titled The Haunting Pool will be shot in NE Oklahoma this coming summer and fall.
Specifically we are looking for younger teenagers, but there will be small roles for children of all ages.

Color Blind Productions announces recent production changes regarding feature-film COLOR BLIND. As sometimes happens in feature film projects, production faces change but the project continues forward. California-based indie producer Lindsay McGrail and Dallas-based producer Chad Gundersen are no longer associated with this production.

Call for Feature-Length Horror Scripts
Tulsa-based Next Monkey Productions, helmed by Darla Enlow, has just finished a feature-length movie. They are currently auditioning scripts for their next project. Next Monkey's movies are shot on a micro-budget using DV technology, for video release only.
Scripts need to meet the following criteria:
- Genre must be Horror, Thriller, Suspense
- No explosions or big budget effects
- Feature length only, no shorts
Preference is to work with the screenwriter on a deferred payment basis.

The Bare Bones International Film Festival (BBIFF) directors have announced a special category of films for 3rd annual competitive festival for movie makers, movie writers and movie actors.
Projects (Scripts or Movies) with a theme of "Tolerance" or "Healing Hate" that represent diversity and non-violence will compete for the first annual Bare Bones "Tolerance" Award.

Call for Entries by Oklahoma Teens to Bare Bones International Film Festival 2002
The 3rd Annual Bare Bones International Film Festival announces a call for entries to Oklahoma Teens to submit movie scripts, short movies, music videos, etc. This competition will feature movies made for youth and movies made by youth.
The deadline for submissions is December 31, 2001. For complete details, visit www.barebones2002.sites.cc. Call for Entries to 2002 Bare Bones International Film Festival in Muskogee
MUSKOGEE (July 19, 2001) — The Bare Bones International Film Festival (BBIFF) has announced its Call for Entries for its 3rd annual competitive festival for movie makers, movie writers and movie actors.
BBIFF 2002, presented by Darkwood Film Arts Institute, Inc., will be held April 17-21, 2002 in Muskogee, Oklahoma. The festival will feature narrative and documentary features, short and student films, experimental films, music videos, movie trailers and animation in its competitive program. BBIFF also presents a separate scriptwriter and movie actor and movie poster competition.
“The goal of the festival is to provide a supportive and educational forum to give 'bare bones budgeted' independents the widest exposure possible,” says Festival Director (and OTFC member) Shiron Ray. BBIFF 2002 will bring together the works of award-winning and aspiring filmmakers to a nurturing environment in a small venue that will encompass the Oklahoma film community, regional film-going audiences and attendees from around the world.
The festival will be accepting submissions through January 31, 2002. Early-bird deadline is September 30, 2001 and the published deadline is December 31, 2001 and the final deadline is January 31, 2002.

Designed to challenge, inspire, and ultimately showcase Oklahoma filmmakers, the Tulsa Overground emphasizes the unique characters, experiences, and locations that Oklahoma has to offer.
The festival is a non-competitive celebration, offering a full evening of independent films and videos from around the world. The result is a cinematic grab bag of primarily short subjects, including: Narrative, Documentary, Experimental, and Animation. Tulsa Overground is dedicated to re-defining the perceptions of Tulsa, while also re-evaluating the language of cinema.

Future Insight Makes Casting Call for DV Projects in Tulsa Area
Future Insight Casting is now accepting headshots and resumes for upcoming projects. Projects include several shorts and a feature (pending) to be shot in the Tulsa area on DV. Feature may require some scenes to be shot on location in Austin, TX.
