The Centennial Committee has booth space available, as well as space for live performances/demonstrations --- or, perhaps, movie screenings? Call them and find out! Centennial Celebration is September 20-22 in Catoosa. Booths are available Friday and Saturday: $75 with electric, $50 without. Only $15 for easel setup for both days! Retail and crafters will be separated from the arts area. Plenty of foot traffic from corresponding events, highway viewed area and local media and National Route 66 Association publicity. The trailer for Next Monkey's current movie project (Toe Tags) should be available at their website by now; please check it out, as it will give you an idea about their movies. Branded is about a rock-and-roll band that takes a weekend retreat to a cabin in order to complete a CD that they think will go platinum. A twisted plan is put into place to ensure the band's success. But what is the price some of them are willing to pay to achieve their fame? Actors need to be physically fit. It will be summer and you will be running around in swimwear as well as shorts-only (for the guys) sometimes. We may be using wigs for the rock hair do’s. Productions is in development of an independent feature film to be shot in Tulsa during summer 2002. DCT!P seeks local investors for its screen version of The Journal of Callie Wade, penned by Dawn Miller of Missouri. Miller is author of a well-received series of books that cover decades of a fictional pioneer family's travails during the 1800's. DCT!P producer Lindsay McGrail and Dallas-based producer Chad Gundersen have brought Tulsan Damon Roberts on board as associate producer for this feature. They have begun meeting with potential investors this week. DCT!P announces it is also planning to shoot a 16mm short in Tulsa, to be directed by two Holland Hall students who have had previous work recognized (via selection process from 10,000 submittors) at last year's Toronto Film Festival. BBIFF 2002, presented by Darkwood Film Arts Institute, Inc., will be held April 17-21, 2002 in Muskogee, Oklahoma. The festival will feature narrative and documentary features, short and student films, experimental films, music videos, movie trailers and animation in its competitive program. BBIFF also presents a separate scriptwriter and movie actor and movie poster competition. “The goal of the festival is to provide a supportive and educational forum to give 'bare bones budgeted' independents the widest exposure possible,” says Festival Director (and OTFC member) Shiron Ray. BBIFF 2002 will bring together the works of award-winning and aspiring filmmakers to a nurturing environment in a small venue that will encompass the Oklahoma film community, regional film-going audiences and attendees from around the world. The festival will be accepting submissions through January 31, 2002.
